Anarchist Protesters Call for Beheadings of GWU Administrators in Anti-Israel Encampment

Amid an ongoing anti-Israel protest at George Washington University (GWU) in Washington, D.C., anarchists have reportedly advocated for the beheadings of school administrators.

A recently surfaced video on social media showed demonstrators on campus calling for the use of a “guillotine” on GW President Ellen Granberg and other administrators.

In the video, a person can be heard repeatedly chanting “Guillotine, Guillotine, Guillotine, Guillotine,” while others joined in, with some specifically targeting Christopher Alan Bracey, GW’s African American provost, according to The National Desk (TND). One protester shouted, “Bracey, Bracey we see you, you assault students too.”

Another voice can be heard shouting, “To the guillotine,” followed by, “Off to the motherf****** gallows with you too.”

As of Wednesday morning, at least 35 people had been arrested at GWU, according to DC police.

Subsequently, several members of the encampment staged a mock court hearing to determine the fate of the administrators. The incident, recorded on an Instagram Live video on May 3, has resurfaced on social media.

During the mock trial, a leader of the encampment delivered a fake verdict as a proxy for Bracey sat before them.

The mock court proceeded to issue verdicts for GWU’s board of trustees and the school’s president, with protesters calling for the beheading of each of these individuals, as reported by TND.

The disruptive behavior of the protesters led to chaos in GWU’s U-Yard throughout the night, with resistance against police officers when they were called to restore order.

Police eventually intervened on campus around 3:30 a.m., using pepper spray to disperse the unruly crowd.

For several days, the encampment had set up tents, displayed Palestinian flags, and vandalized a statue of the campus’ namesake, former President George Washington, with Palestinian imagery, including “Free Palestine” stickers.

The anti-Israel protesters also hoisted an American flag bearing the words “Genocide Joe,” featuring a photo of President Biden.
